Permaculture zones
Permaculture zones are a way of dividing the landscape into zones based on the frequency of human use and the needs of the ecosystem.
There are typically five permaculture zones, with Zone 1 being the area closest to the home and most intensively used, and Zone 5 being the area farthest from the home and left mostly wild.
The zones are typically arranged in concentric circles around the home, with each zone having its own unique characteristics and design considerations. The design of each zone is based on the principles of permaculture, with a focus on creating sustainable and resilient human habitats that mimic natural ecosystems.
